Blog 8: My experience as a blogger

Hi all! I hope you are well with this semester and if not, I send you all my encouragement for what remains.

I'll talk about my blogging experience! I have never written a blog and this experience is different from the usual one for learning English. I'm not very good at English, but I try to learn more by writing this.

I think it has been a lot of fun writing about certain topics that we like so that you can learn a little about me. I also really enjoyed reading other blogs. I learned new things about their careers, I was also able to read many opinions on the same topic. Which was very interesting for me, because that way we could get to know each other a little bit virtually.

I really hope you are fine with contingency and other facts. With what has happened lately with the case of Antonia Barra, I want to tell the women who read this that they are not alone and that they can count on me! I am very angry about it and I would like to tell everyone that it is up to us to change the situation.

Greetings and maybe we'll see each other in English IV.

Blog 7: Families and my family!

Welcome to a new blog! I will talk about the family and what I think about it.

Now families are very different and each one is special in its own way. I think I like modern families, I mean that families can have two mothers, two fathers, no children and all the people we want to call family. Before, homosexual families were frowned upon, even those heterosexual couples who had unmarried children was a topic of conversation, or the issue of simply not having children. Nowadays, people try to open their minds to these problems and accept each person's decisions, although even a part of society bothers them when they see that they are not like them.

Personally, my family is very mainstream. But they respect every decision we make. Also they are constantly supporting me, they let me know how valuable I am and how much they love me and I am very happy with that. They are very important actually. I am very close to my parents and my younger brother. Last year I really had a hard time traveling to Santiago and living there without them, but I called every night and they were a great support for me. Now I stay with them every day and sometimes it can be annoying, but we are fine! I also consider my family my cat Orion and my friends, we met 8 years ago and I love them very much💞

Blog 6: Subjects of my third semester!

Hi again! I hope you are all very well. This time I will talk about my favorite subject this semester.

Adjusting the bracket once a day at noon collects all the sun rays ...This semester I have 6 branches: Principles of habitability and sustainability; Morphology, structure and materialization; Urban sustainability; English III; Culture of classical architecture; and finally Workshop III. But, workshop III started two weeks ago and it paused again so almost nothing worked on this topic.

The other topics have helped me a lot and I think they will help me a lot due to the technical points that I will see in the projects. For example, thanks to the principles of urban habitability, I can calculate the direction of sunlight and other environmental factors and adapt my project to them. Also, thanks to the morphology and structure, I will be able to design resistant structures.

My favorite subject and the one I liked the most is Culture of classical architecture. The teacher is very kind and concerned, he always asks us how we are doing and he respected the paralyzation as a career. I have also always liked the theme of ancient Greece and Rome. We have seen the architecture of this era and as it changes over time. I think it is interesting.

Blog 5: Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa

Hello everyone! In this time I will tell you about two architects that I like: Kazuyo Sejima y Ryue Nishizawa.

They are Japanese architects. I heard about them for first time last year. I used it as a reference for a final project, since in his projects he sees how he uses space concepts in a very interesting way. Both met by another famous architect, Toyo Ito. Sejima later launched his own company and among the people he worked with was Nishizawa. She likes Nishizawa's work, asked him to join her and thus work as a duo.

The two have worked together on many projects and even founded an association called SANAA. In 2010 they both won the highest architecture award, the Pritzker Prize. And other world-renowned awards in the area.

Sejima and Nishizawa respectively
One of the projects that I like the most about both is Casa Moriyama. It is located in the traditional area of Tokyo and I like how it relates the exterior space to the interior. I also like working with volumes and that the organization of these generate spaces inside and outside them. Here are some photos for you to see!

Blog 4: Photos!

Hello!! Today I will talk about a photo that brings me very good memories.

I really like taking photos of the sunsets and I took this one day when I camped with my friends in the fields.

I took the photo in the summer of 2019, a few weeks before I had to travel to Santiago. We wanted to get together before separating from the university and not worry about anything for a few days. I remember that we ate too much. I also remember that it was very hot days and it was horrible to set up the tent, but resting under the shade of the trees and sitting down to watch that everything around us was vegetation made me feel much better. The photo shows the sunset, the warm colors remind me of the warmth I felt surrounded by people I loved and love until now. ❤️

I hope that when the pandemic ends, I can meet my friends again and camp again without worrying about anything else.
